The group played a variety of well-known worship songs during Chapel on Monday. Songs included "Holy Is The Lord," "Come Thou Fount" and "Here I Am to Worship." The band was pretty impressed with the group participating in singing along.
"You sing more than most people, I like that," said David.
Within the hour, the band also addressed the events that occurred in Haiti nearly three weeks ago.
"I know that tragedy is not the end," said David "I feel pretty helpless."
Although not being able to communicate fully into words the feelings of the group, David did mention that sometimes he and the music he writes feels insignificant.
"It seems so trite," said David. "It seems that we're passing it [problems] up."
He further encouraged students to be okay if they don't have the answers for tough questions and that hope is the most important thing to have at these times.
"There in that moment, when all seems lost, is when we need it," said Dan on the band's website. "Hope wasn't meant for those who have all the momentum. Hope operates best when we are down and out. Stuck and slogging through the mud, and not making any progress."
The band was also in concert Monday evening at Mabee Chapel, which let students hear many the songs off their newest album.
