Student Government says happy finals

Issue date: 5/13/09 Section: News
With this last issue of the update before the end of the semester, we hope you have a good finals week and a great summer.
In this week's meeting, we had an energetic discussion regarding the student activity fee for next year. We are planning to find some more details and revisit the issue in our next meeting.
As we continuously scrutinize our actions in our effort to get back to the SGA Constitution, we are finding some areas in which we need to change our procedures and reevaluate our bylaws. One of these areas is the budget. The Judicial Council recently realized that we made some procedural mistakes in our vote to pass the recent budget recommendations. To correct this, we have posted the budget outside the SGA office and will redo the vote next Monday. The budget is expected to remain unchanged.
Finally, we are working to get all of the new amendments, positions, and candidate responsibilities ironed out in preparation for next fall. With some preparation over the next couple of weeks, we should be able to get off to a great start next school year.
