Are we as SBU students really so immature that we have to put bubbles in our fountain as soon as there's water in it?
If you truly want a better campus, stop destroying the one we already have.
Bubbles in the fountain are not funny. Dying the fountain is not funny. Vandalizing the fountain is not funny.
It's overdone and annoying.
Students complain about how plain our campus is. The buildings are plain brick, amazing architecture is lacking, the list goes on.
Maybe you heard your parents talk about how back when they were in college, they really "got the administration good" by dying their fountain red. OK, think about it: that was at least 20 years ago. The idea is old.
When we dye the fountain and put bubbles in it, we're telling the administration that we're children. We can't be trusted with anything nice, so don't give it to us. We'll only mess it up.
Is that really the message you want to send President Taylor? Humph. I thought you wanted more visitation and later curfew hours. You got me.
Let Safety and Security worry about important things (like your safety) instead of trying to catch immature students who think destructive pranks are funny. We're here to get an education, not a criminal record. Start acting your age.
Pranksters, you're not helping anyone. We don't think it's funny anymore, so act more mature and show some respect.
Sure, Student Government's infamous statue plan did not go over well last year, but at least they tried to beautify our campus with a new idea.
God has blessed us with a beautiful campus full of green trees, air conditioned classrooms, and a Safety and Security staff who cares about protecting us. Let's enjoy what we have instead of destroying it and asking for more.
