Investment simulation begins

Southwest Baptist University's Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) team is offering financial seminars to SBU students and to the surrounding community.
"Financial planning seminars are aimed at helping students and community members make educated choices in a dynamic economy," said junior co-leader Matt Clair.
These seminars are open for anyone who is interested in learning about investing in the stock market as well as insurance.
The first seminar was September 23 from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. in Woody Auditorium in the Taylor National Free Enterprise Center.
Mr. Tim Erickson (Edward Jones Investments) spoke about successful stock investing strategies.
The second seminar is September 25th from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. in Woody Auditorium.
Brad Collins of State Farm Insurance will inform attendees about procuring and maintaining insurance.
These seminars will lead into SIFEnvest, another SBU SIFE project, where participants will get fake money to invest in a stock simulation game which follows actual stock prices.
Community members are encouraged to participate in this no cost simulation to give you a chance to invest with fake money to get a feel for what it is like to risk your own money.
With the stock market as volatile as it currently is, this game is critical for college students.
To enroll in this simulation, the public is invited to email name and address to Matt Clair, co-leader of the project, at mc000033@SBUniv.edu and he will send instructions on how to play.
