Consider these additional interesting facts about the game: The President’s father, himself a former President, was present to assist in the initial coin toss. The remaining two seconds left on the clock after the final field goal were never played. More commercials during this Superbowl were either government-sponsored or government-mandated than during any other sporting event of the past. The Patriots had never before won a Superbowl. Was it really a coincidence that this year would be the year the Patriots would win their first Superbowl? Or was it intended to be that way?
In a day and age when the government controls everything from the amount of MSG in food products to the minimum MPG standards for new cars and trucks, it is not inconceivable that the government would have its hand in the outcome of football’s biggest event. After all, the Patriot’s victory in Superbowl XXXVI exemplifies the message George W. Bush has been preaching for five months: the campaign may be a long, drawn-out affair with many ups and down, but in the end the Patriots will win. When all the pieces of the puzzle come together, the “Superdome Scandal” may turn out to be the biggest government scandal since the Harding administration’s Teapot Dome Scandal.
