SBU announces newcomer awards for faculty and staff

Southwest Baptist University recently announced its annual Newcomer Award winners for faculty and staff. Greg Stewart was the staff recipient and Dr. Robert Klostermeyer was presented the faculty award. Klostermeyer serves SBU as chairman of the department of history and political science and as an assistant professor of political science.

SBU to benefit from $14,000 Sprint donation to the Missouri Colleges Fund

Southwest Baptist University will benefit from a donation made to the Missouri Colleges Fund (MCF) by Sprint, which has contributed $14,000 to underwrite Sprint Teacher Scholarships at each of the MCF%s member colleges and universities. Scholarships are awarded by the member schools on the basis of financial need to students pursuing teaching careers.

SBU accounting alumni and majors team up for mentoring program

Southwest Baptist University accounting majors will benefit again this year as several SBU accounting alumni have volunteered their time to participate in the second year of a mentoring program. SBU Accounting Department Chair Wayne Clark, CPA, said, -These alumni will serve one-on-one as mentors to majors as they progress through SBU%s accounting program and into the world of business as an accounting or financial professional.
